Can't wait too team this china floral print bralet up with a pair of leather look leggings and a studded belt or for summer a cute pair of denim high waited shorts and tortoise shell sunny gees! The Aztec print dress has been a sell out for Topshop and I'm so glad I got my hands on it. A bright lipstick, a top knot bun and chunky wedges are what I'm planning on wearing with this! Might even throw in a studded belt or bright clutch to finish it off! The Topshop white striped,sheer tshirt will be a great everyday top I hope! Wouldn't it look great with a black bra showing through or maybe a coloured or patterned bandeau underneath!

Sooo we won!This meant are garment went into Liverpool's Death By Glitter Vogue Ball amongst some other amazing outfits.Myself, Kelsey and Ryan got the oppourtunity to dress the lovely model Amy Faith and watched on as she took to the catwalk! It was a brilliant night and I would just like to say thankyou to everyone who gave us this oppourtunity, we loved it and we are very grateful!

'SEEN' Magazine Competition.

The Making.

A Liverpool based magazine'Seen'set up a competition coninciding with the annual Vogue Ball in Liverpool. We were given the task to create a dress soley from back copies of their magazine in the short timescale of just 48 hours. We were put in to groups of 8-10 students making 3 groups within the class.

We began by researching ideas and designing then going on to experimenting with the paper itself such as pleating, curling and folding and seeing what created the most interesting shapes aswell being a sturdy foundation to our dress. We realised pleating was very visually pleasing and gave a great eye impact so we then went with this idea. We created large fans which we wanted the model to cover her face with so she could not be 'seen' and then could reveal herself when beginning to walk the catwalk. We wanted the garment to be really over the top and exhubrant aswell as being quirky. So we then exaggereated the size of the fan on the top and made the skirt an unusual shape. To add extra effect we decided to make a head piece involving the fans and the 'seen' logo giving the finishing touch to the garment.

Liverpool Look.

In Febuary of this year, the new Museum of Liverpool was getting ready to open. For one of their exhibitions they set up a competition named 'Made Up: The Liverpool Look'. As part of one of our modules, we entered the competition. The aim was to create a doll which emcompasses aspects of Liverpool whether it be to mimic a style tribe within Liverpool or your own view on the city. For my doll I decided to show as many of Liverpool's attributes as possible such as music, architecture and style. The prize for the competition was that your doll could be selected to be exhibited in the museum for up to two years and... mine was chosen!!

So my idea was that to show Liverpool's style I decided to to use the popular top knot bun that many girls wear in and around the city. I also decided to use net fabric for the top as it is slightly see through which represents how the girls enjoy dressing up and aren't afraid to show some flesh. The clock and the wings on the top half of the doll are a representation of the famous Liver Building, the wings of which are covered in articles from the city's newspaper the Liverpool Echo. The skirt I made from card which I shaped and coloured as vinyl records emcompassing how popular music is in Liverpool and reminds people of famous bands such as The Beatles!

Drool.

These Jeffery Campbell Lita shoes are just to die for. I seriously need a pair in my life or all seven pairs are okay if someones feeling genourous of course :)

Armoured.

These images a from a recent uni project where we chose words to inspire us in creating a photoshoot. I chose the word 'armoured' which made me think of how people isolate themselves from others in order to protect them selves. This made me think of being enclosed in a small box, making you be contained and restricted-hence the clingfilm dress and strapping around the models legs and body. Thankyou so much to Rosalyne Grisedale, my lovely model for putting up with these uncomfortable outfits on extremely hot day! :)

Charity Couture.

My most recent project for university was to explore how charity clothing and haute couture could combine. We first had to go and find garments from the charity shops within Liverpool and see what we could put together that would resemble 'Charity Couture'. I decided take a different route than the usual evening gown and went for a more tailored,structured suit type garment which is sometimes seen within haute couture collections. I found these pieces which are quite 1980's inspired with the bold colour and shoulder pads like some of garments seen in Chanel's and Givenchy's 1980's couture collections. I decided to taper the trousers legs in with a turn up for modern twist as well as making the jacket ever so slightly more shapely. We then went on to do a photoshoot which I styled 1980's inspired and located in a photographic studio using the lovely model Lottie Williams. So here's the final product!
